Welcome Independence Elementary music students and parents to this new way of learning, communicating and working together - our new website for Mr. McDade's Music classes! Our new music website also functions as a wiki (see more about "wikis" below). This website is a place for Mr. McDade to make information available to Independence students and parents about classroom activities and other musical activities in his classroom. It will also be a place for students to find resources about music, collaborate together on classroom projects, participate in online discussions about music, and post their projects and creations so that others can see and hear them !

The word "wiki" is from the Hawaiian language, and it means "fast". The most famous wiki these days online is probably Wikipedia, which is an online encyclopedia. What's unique about a wiki is that they are web pages that can be edited and changed by anyone (parents, see this page: Information for Parents). Using this website as a wiki will allow students to collaborate online for learning activities such as research projects, slide shows & Power Point presentations, discussions on music listening examples, and even musical compositions and movie-making.
